A MULLET HAS ENTERED THE BUILDING!! [14 Dec 2005|08:42am]
An orange mullet just entered the building here at work. He's also wearing a jean jacket and tight jeans. I love this guy. I bet he plays hockey too.

We're coming back to Alabamy! At the end of the month. It's a temporary thing. I love it, this is so classic Alabama - Matt called a machine shop in Prattville to inquire about a job. When he asked for Human Resources, the guy says, "We ain't got no human resources, but I'm the owner."

I'm going to miss hockey mullets and 0 degree weather. Here's our current forecast:

Currently in Buffalo

Spread Eagle music? [24 Aug 2005|07:22am]
Are there any Spread Eagle CDs or mp3s out there? I would love to buy/make a CD for a friend of mine. I've told him all about you guys and he'd LOVE it, I know.

We went to a Bills game on Saturday - my friend's parents have boxed seats inside so it was nice. But Devon is teething so he's a little on the edge sometimes, so whenever people would scream and cheer, I'd look over and see this little red, scrunched-up, pouty face. He was not digging the noise at all.

Put the off button on [12 Aug 2005|07:55am]
[ mood | awake ]

So I started this community awhile back, and now it has 307 members....whoa. But I don't do anything to "keep it up" - can I pawn it off to someone??

I don't know why I just can't accept the fact that a lot of Canadians, and probably people from other countries, just don't like Americans. Why can't I just accept it? Why must I argue??

Like Lambert, I also like to peek in people's showers at parties and such. However, I do it not because I think someone is in there, but because I am curious to know what kind of shampoo and soap people use.

It's day 99 of sleep deprivation.

[03 Aug 2005|07:54am]
Yay, I figured out how to get html code or whatever for pictures. So here are some of Devon; these were about a month ago. We're going to the lake this weekend so I'll take more then and post.

Anyway, things are fine, I have been back at work for about a month now. I have to get up at 5 so I'm sooo tired. We have a van now....yes, it's sad...we are truly a surburban family now. BUT, we did put an Alkaline Trio and a Misfits sticker on it. The Misfits sticker is a skull with what appears to be blood on it, and then right above that is a "baby on board" sign. It's brilliant.

Las Vegas Wedding [02 May 2004|10:44pm]
[ mood | relaxed ]

Finally, I found a way to post pictures online.

http://community.webshots.com/album/139677570kEatYM

Here they are - it was lovely - we are happy - we are together in Buffalo.

Poopy INS just changed it so now he can't get his work permit right away - poo on them! Immigration is so complicated and there are so many obstables along the way it is unbelievable. All worth it, of course. But still - we is broke! Still getting our house though on June 30 - woo-hoo! I expect out of town visitors!!

Just wanted to let you guys know that we are having a shin-dig next year, aka "big wedding" or whatever you want to call it. We'd LOVE to do it this year but simply can't afford it. Besides, now you have plenty of warning and time to make travel plans.

Here's a fun one: http://pixyland.org/peterpan/petersFashionPage.html
the captions under the photos are the best.

I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LUUUV! [12 Apr 2004|07:08pm]
[ mood | almost married ]

Get that white wedding chapel ready; Matt and I are going to Las Vegas to get hitched! The lovely date is next Saturday April 17 at 4pm. I even have a brand-spanking new (and free!) wedding dress to go with the event.

Yes, this comes on the heels of the US government telling us April 8 at his visa interview that we were APPROVED and he comes tomorrow to the 'ol US of A FOR GOOD (hehe), whereupon we will marry and soon after send off papers so he can get his residency status.

We are also looking into a house to buy...wow, we are all grown up now, aren't we?? There is so much excitement buzzing about methinks I might pass out, really!

We are also having a "wedding thingy" later on so that our friends and family can be there.

Maybe I will be like that UK guy and sell all my belongings and go risk it all at the casino...nah, I don't think I'm worth all that much anyway!

ode to grandparents [21 Mar 2004|10:46pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

I'd just like to give a shout out (ha) to grandparents everywhere for being amazing. I was thinking the other day what amazing lives my grandparents have had. My dad's parents wrote memoirs, and I was reading them the other day and realizing just how interesting their lives were, they've lived all over the world and he was a Navy captain and a Dean at a university...and all the while he was just Grampy to me. And my mom's parents have been through so much and still manage to be so kind and have so much wisdom...it's really amazing.

BTW, hmm, for some reason a few people got the idea that I am moving to Canada. Just to be clear, Matt is moving to the US first...maybe sometime down the line we will move to Canada, but only after he gets his dual citizenship, which will take at least 3 years to get. We're still waiting for the interview date for the visa, which will be in Montreal and should be no later than May.

I found a large, loud and proud NJ Devils sticker for my car...oh yes, baby, I am going to be pissing some people here off!!

5 days and counting til my bro's and my amiga mejor's BD...

alright, I just spilled grated cheese all over the couch...gross...not the point of the post though.

I am happy to say that I got to participate in "Super Tuesday"!! Wow, for once I feel like my vote is going to count for something! To hell with living in a Republican state! :) No, Alabama, actually I really miss you...you and your tornado watches, your mexican food, your people, your humidity, and yes, even the good ol' rednecks.

Which reminds me...I found out where the Canadian rednecks hang out, and yes, it's at Wal-Mart. Oh boy.

And I wanted to share this quote said by a voter from a Yahoo News story. I want to make it into a sticker:
"Bush don't mean nothing to nobody but Bush," Richburg said. "His lies done him out. He's got to go."
I LOVE it.

Matt and I are gonna lose our minds over this immigration stuff...we take turns comforting each other. It's both amusing and sad.

i wish lj had smilies [29 Feb 2004|06:50pm]
[ mood | melancholy ]

My heart hurts so much and I can't tell whether it's: a) because of my anxiety disorder, b) because I really am going to have a heart attack at age 25, or c) because it is literally physically broken due to emotional strain.  Neither possibility would surprise me.

I am going to go to bed now so that nothing else can go wrong today.  I need some balance - it can't all happen today - some shit has to wait til Monday.

just me bitching again.. [18 Feb 2004|10:16pm]
[ mood | frustrated ]

sorry, feel like that's all I've been doing lately - hopefully soon I will be so sugary happy it'll make people puke.

I just hate fucking lawyers. I am now a victim; thus, I am convinced of their evil status reputation they are oh so living up to in my book.

My stupid attorney not filing the proper paperwork with the divorce decree has created a barrage of stupid problems. Mind you, this divorce was official in 2002; it's now 2004, so this is only aggravating the problem.

So he didn't file this stupid SIMPLE piece of paper with the courts, a piece of paper that they need to get the certificate to vital records. I have been fighting the fight with him and the circuit court for over a month now trying to get this shit sorted out in case Immigration needs proper divorce certification. This is so confusing for those who don't know how immigration works...basically the lack of this paperwork could cause a delay in our visa processing or at worst a denial (meaning we'd have to start all over again).

Finally last week I had my dad call the attorney because he kept acting like I was the moron. He told him that he sent out the necessary paperwork Friday to the circuit court. Ok, now 3 mail days have passed - called the court today - no paperwork! You're telling me it takes 3 days for a piece of mail to move down the street?? I don't think so. I just know if I call he'll just be an ass and he'll make up some lame excuse or blame it on the court. I feel like calling and yelling "This Is My DAmn Life you're messing with Here! Do YOU want to pay the $165 fee when I have to resubmit my damn paperwork b/c of YOU?!"

Well I do feel better getting that out. And I really wish I could be there to have the support of all my dear friends in these trying times :( I sure could use a trip to Pepito's right now!

Gotta love this quote:

"Because the game is broadcast worldwide, Ritchie also wrote that the actions harmed the "standing and credibility" of Americans throughout the world."

Hmm, actually, no, it's people like this dumbass who harm the "standing and credibility of Americans."

People are dumb.

2 more things [02 Feb 2004|09:47pm]

I really like the last sentence:

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/4096586

Oh yeah, my new neighbors on the 2nd floor (I'm on the 3rd)...ick, they have kids.  Now I like kids, but I'd rather them not live in my apartment building.  They were screaming earlier.  Plus I want to be able to be loud when I want with parties or gatherings.  Matt is going to shit when he hears this - I think his reaction will be priceless; he won't be happy.  After he comes here though we were thinking of moving.  I think now we will definitely get going!  They also leave their shoes out - about 6 pairs.  Ok, fine - my neighbors across the hall do that, but we're on the top floor, so they're not in anyone's way.  err.
